Our "Wonderful" Military
While people were trying to salvage what was left of their homes and belongings in Kansas, a few members of our "wonderful" military had other ideas.
Keep in mind that this was a town that was completely destroyed by an F-5 tornado. So, while people were trying to come to terms with what happened, these jackasses decided that they were going to have a little fun of their own. Instead of helping people, they decided to help themselves to stuff that didn't belong to them. How many more victims of the tornado were under the rubble dying while these jackasses were on their little looting spree?
They weren't supposed to be there, yet they were allowed to roam freely simply because they had on a uniform? It's nice to know that people who aren't supposed to be somewhere are just allowed to roam freely without anyone questioning them. Damn, that just makes me feel safe!!
Remember, this is a country that is SERIOUS about security!!
GREENSBURG, Kansas (AP) -- Four soldiers and a reserve police officer were arrested Sunday on suspicion of looting cigarettes and alcohol from a store in this tornado-ravaged town, state officials said.

The soldiers from Fort Riley Army base and the reserve police officer had come to assist on their own and were not part of any official detachment, said Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, the state's adjutant general.
"These were people who weren't supposed to be there," Bunting said.
Watson said the five were in uniform, so police allowed them to come and go freely despite a town curfew.

What a sad, sick and scary story and as you said, this is suppose to be a country that is SERIOUS about security.

Wow, that's really, really awful. Military members - looters? Amazing. This is on top of a National Guard shortage thanks to the Stupid Pointless War.
