People Have Lost Their Goddamn Minds!
This might be a continuing series, given the climate of today's political world.
Today's target: Randi Rhodes.
Nice way to toss a career, hell, a fucking life out the window, Randi.
For those that haven't heard, Randi Rhodes decided about two weeks ago to call Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro "fucking whores" and said that she "had all of the dirt" on the Clintons.
(The only reason I've linked to FOX is because they actually didn't obscure the words like the L.A. Times did.)
Today was the first I heard about it. I'm under the impression that it was the first that anyone had heard about it, unless they heard it live as it happened or got the story shortly thereafter.
What's funny about the whole situation is, one, it didn't have to happen and, two, it just confirms my previous comments that Obama's followers are beyond the pale and completely unhinged. In other words, uber-cultists.
Look, Randi, your new bed-buddy is supposedly the next Puppet of the United States, so why bother with all of the invective?
Maybe if she had a vocabulary...nah!
I've never been a big fan of Randi Rhodes to begin with. I used to listen to her when she was "small-time" in Florida and would get a headache from the ceaseless drums and guitars as she'd go to break. Needless to say, I listened to her very sparingly.
Then she went to Air America and I listened to the first show but after that, listened, again, very infrequently.
After September 11, 2001, I listened to her even less, as she was one of those (and I believe she still is) that actually believed 19 guys with glorified knives could take over four planes without anyone fighting back. Despite the evidence to the contrary, she could never be persuaded to see things with an open mind.
And now, this.
I remember a woman that once talked about how she loved Bill Clinton, how he was a great guy and her favorite president and couldn't stop defending him against his critics.
When you change bed partners, I guess the whole scene changes.
Hey, Randi, if you had any "dirt" on the Clintons, so much so that you could "ruin" their lives, why resort to tossing out 3 penny words like "whore" and "fucking"? Why not just go for the uppercut and start rattling off pebbles of this "dirt"? It wouldn't be because you have no such "dirt", would it?
I have always said, "Never get 'married' to a politician because, ultimately, he will disappoint."
It's only a matter of time before Randi Rhodes is calling Barack Obama a son of a bitch.
That is, if anyone ever wants to put her on the air again.

For a long time Rhodes was fooled by the Clintons, but she finally wised up.
I disagree with the wording of Rhodes' comments, but her suspension is a disturbing corporate attack on free speech.

Far be it from me to defend Air America. In fact, I won't even bother.
What I will do is tell you exactly what Air America was thinking and why they did what they did.
Two words and an acronym:
Don Imus and CBS.
AAR figured that, in order to avoid a firestorm (debatable how big a firestorm it would have been), they had to get out ahead of the situation and took the suspension route.
As to Randi Rhodes "being fooled by the Clintons" for a long time and "finally wising up", then why is she supporting Barack Obama?
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are political twins. Don't believe me? Go check out their voting records at Project Vote Smart. See how often they disagree and, when they do, why.
If Randi Rhodes did her homework on her candidate, maybe she'd be in a better position to see that, if Hillary is a whore, Barack Obama is on his knees right next to her.
