These Are CHRISTIANS?
Two people at a Christian Boot Camp in Texas are facing assault charges for dragging a 15 year old girl behind a van.
These are fucking CHRISTIANS? Did their Bible tell them to drag this girl behind the van when she no longer could run? Did GOD tell them to drag this girl behind the van when she no longer could run? What the hell is wrong with these two assholes? I hope that her mother is going to sue these assholes, and that "boot camp" should be shut down.
I especially love the name of the place that runs this boot camp. It's called Love Demonstrated Ministries. Apparently, this is how they show LOVE. They drag a CHILD behind a van. That's love!! THAT'S GOD'S LOVE!! And yes, she is a child regardless of the fact that she's 15. She's somebody's child, and these assholes took it upon themselves to injure this child for absolutely no reason.
Christian Boot Camp Officials Accused of Dragging Teen Behind Van
Friday, August 10, 2007
BANQUETE, Texas — Arrest warrants have been issued for two officials at a Christian boot camp accused of dragging a 15-year-old girl behind a van after she fell behind the group during a morning run, authorities said.
Charles Eugene Flowers and Stephanie Bassitt of San Antonio-based Love Demonstrated Ministries, a 32-day boot camp, are facing aggravated assault charges for the alleged June 12 incident.
The two were accused of tying the girl to the van with a rope then dragging her, according to an arrest affidavit filed Wednesday by the Nueces County Sheriff's Department. Arrest affidavits for Flowers and Bassitt list a $100,000 bond.
A call to Love Demonstrated Ministries was not immediately returned Friday. No listing was found for Bassitt. An answering machine at a listing for Flowers cut off during an attempt to leave a message Friday.
Flowers, the camp's director, allegedly ordered Bassitt to run alongside the girl after she fell behind, the affidavit said. When the girl stopped running, Bassitt allegedly yelled at her and pinned her to the ground while Flowers tied the rope to her, according to the affidavit.
The girl's mother gave investigators photos of her daughter's injuries that were taken at a hospital where the girl was treated and a sworn statement from a witness who claimed to see the girl being dragged on her stomach at least three times.

Love Demonstrated Ministries provides the Faith-Based Component for the San Antonio Young Offender Program, which includes an intensive life skills training program focused on teamwork, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for oneself and their family. The "trainees" also complete daily physical training and community service projects.
So, kids are evidently SENTENCED to be dragged behind moving vehicles. I thought we're supposed to have a seperation of church and state, or at least that's what people say when someone wants to pray at football games. Of course, sentencing kids as part of a punishment to a Christian Boot Camp is just fine.

Yes Mike!! Apparently it's perfectly fine for Love Demonstrated Ministries employees to pin down teens, tie them up with rope, and drag them behind moving vehicles.
I wonder what lesson that teaches them. Is it a lesson in teamwork? Perhaps, if you're teaching these teens how to commit a crime by teaming up against one person!! A lesson in leadership? Maybe, if you're teaching these teens how to step up as a leader and assault another person!! Responsibility? Definitely, if you're teaching these teens that this girl was responsible for her dragging simply because she couldn't run anymore. Self-discipline? Definitely, if you're teaching these teens that this is what will happen to them if they're not self-disciplined and can't keep up. Respect for oneself and family? Absolutely because they wouldn't be dragged behind the vehicle if they respected themselves and their family by not getting into trouble with the law in the first place.
Don't you see? I mean, what's a little dragging? If the dragging taught her a lesson, all is well!! No harm done!!
By the way, all of the above was a sarcastic response. As you can obviously see by my original post, these assholes need to be arrested and face the consequences. The boot camp also needs to be shut down.

Let's not jump to conclusions now; the girl was probably asking for it. Maybe she just didn't pray hard enough, or maybe she didn't express enough hatred for comminists and homosexuals. I'm sure there's an explanation for why these decent Christian boys did what they did :)

I'm sure that's probably it Tom!! Personally, I'm waiting for the Bible passage to be presented that says "Thou shalt drag children behind vehicles at Christian Boot Camp if they fall behind or stop running."
I'm sure that passage is in there somewhere!!

It's amazing how people can find justifications in the Bible for what they already believe, no matter how much of the Bible (in this case most of what Jesus said) they have to ignore to do it.
All I can say to these authoritarians is to read Matthew 7:15-23, which ends with Jesus telling those who produce bad fruit, "I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"

Aranfell, welcome to my forum!!
It really doesn't amaze me that people would use the Bible to justify what they say or do. It happens all the time.
Bush had conversations with GOD, and GOD told him to invade Iraq. The right-wing, homophobic, CHRISTIANS use the Bible to justify their hate for gays. Yet, there is not one single passage in the Bible that is directly related to the subject of homosexuality. I could go on and on about how these people use the Bible to justify things.
They will continue to pervert the Bible in order to justify their actions until the end of time. That's how they are!!
Again, welcome to my forum!!
