NRA: Aiding & Abetting Terrorists

The NRA is aiding and abetting terrorists. What else would you call their plea not to prevent "suspected" terrorists from purchasing guns? If that's not aiding and abetting the terrorists, I don't know what is!!

WASHINGTON - The National Rifle Association is urging the Bush administration to withdraw its support of a bill that would prohibit suspected terrorists from buying firearms.

Backed by the Justice Department, the measure would give the attorney general the discretion to block gun sales, licenses or permits to terror suspects.

What the NRA is essentially saying is that anyone should be allowed to have guns, even those suspected of terrorism.

In a letter this week to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, NRA executive director Chris Cox said the bill, offered last week by Sen. Frank Lautenberg (news, bio, voting record), D-N.J., "would allow arbitrary denial of Second Amendment rights based on mere 'suspicions' of a terrorist threat."

"As many of our friends in law enforcement have rightly pointed out, the word 'suspect' has no legal meaning, particularly when it comes to denying constitutional liberties," Cox wrote.

Really? Tell that to the people in Gitmo Mr. Cox!! They're only "suspected" of being terrorists. Yet, they're caged like animals pretty much 24/7 in another country. They're being denied their liberties. But, I bet the NRA executive director would argue that the situation is totally different. They're not Americans, therefore they're not entitled to any liberties.

Current law requires gun dealers to conduct a criminal background check and deny sales if a gun purchaser falls under a specified prohibition, including a felony conviction, domestic abuse conviction or illegal immigration. There is no legal basis to deny a sale if a purchaser is on a terror watch list.

If you're on a terror watch list you can purchase as many guns as you want. Yet if you're on a terror watch list, you can't fly. Yeah, makes perfect sense to me!! Not!! The "terrorists" can't fly, but they can buy guns and blow the hell out of anyone they damn well please. Nice!!

When is America's love affair with guns going to end? The NRA is so beyond irresponsible with this one!! Remember, guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people. Remember to thank the NRA when you come up against a terrorist who was able to purchase a gun. After all, they were only "suspected" terrorists which means absolutely nothing to the NRA.

Sick, Sick, Sick People

As I was reading this story, I almost wanted to puke.

First of all, the NRA can take its apology, and shove it straight up its ass. Their apology shouldn't and doesn't mean a damn thing. If groups such as the NRA didn't exist, there would be far fewer guns in the hands of people in this country. Thus, the country would be a hell of a lot safer.

Larry Pratt, the director of Gun Owners of America is an absolute jackass. Instead of offering condolences (which wouldn't mean a damn thing either coming from him), he decides to take people to task for trying to ban guns in this country. He says that gun bans are the problem. Really Larry? The way I and many others see it, it's the GUN that is the damn problem you jackass!! How dare you!!

How dare he say that people shouldn't be banned from carrying guns in school. What the hell does Larry Pratt want to see? Does he want to see an all-out gun battle in the hallways of every school and college in this country? Does he want hundreds or thousands of children and young adults to die for no reason? Hey, I know!! Why not put a gun in the hands of preschoolers, and let them battle it out? Wouldn't that be great to see? After all, the preschooler would just have to say that the other kids were teasing him or her. Or, the preschooler would just have to use the excuse that he or she was defending himself or herself. It would be totally justified in the minds of those who think like Larry Pratt. I mean, how dare anyone say that you shouldn't be allowed to have a gun at school!! It's not a place to learn. If you die in school, who cares!! The only thing that matters is that nobody's right to bear arms is denied. If you become just another statistic, so be it. Right?

SICK, SICK, SICK PEOPLE. Heck, they're not even people. They're just scum!!
