The Salvation Army Discriminates Against Its Own!!

You just have to love those "Christians". The Salvation Army is discriminating against one of its own.

Salvation Army Leader May Lose Job Over Forbidden Marriage

OSHKOSH, Wis. — The leader of a Wisconsin Salvation Army will lose his job if he goes ahead with plans to marry outside the organization.

Capt. Johnny Harsh of Oshkosh is engaged to a woman who's not affiliated with the Salvation Army. They're planning to marry in June.

Harsh says he's well aware of the agency's rule that says an officer may only marry another officer of the organization. But he doesn't think it's fair.

Salvation Army Advisory Board member Helen Lord Burr says the agency's rules are the same all over the world.

Harsh became engaged after losing his wife, Capt. Yalanda Harsh, to complications of a heart attack last June.

The Salvation Army and DISCRIMINATION know each other very well, so this is no surprise at all. Instead of discriminating against gay people, which is one of the reasons I refuse to give them a damn dime, they've turned on one of their own.

What exactly did Johnny Harsh do? In reality he did nothing wrong. Well, that is the reality for those with a functioning, NORMAL brain!! If you belong to the Salvation Army, Johnny Harsh has apparently committed the ultimate sin. He's marrying a woman who isn't one of them. Apparently she's not PURE ENOUGH. She hasn't been indoctrinated!! And for that, he must lose his job!!

If you don't believe that the Salvation Army discriminates and hides behind religion to do so, you're blind and ignorant. Now the Salvation Army believes that they have some "divine right" to decide who you're allowed to marry, and if you dare to question them you're threatened with losing your job.

No money from me will ever be dropping in a red kettle again!! I will give to people directly because at least I know that they're receiving my donation, and they're not being discriminated against in the process!!

I won't say the SA hasn't done a lot of good; they have. I will say that the SA is a rigidly Jesusistani organization that discriminates frequently and blatantly, and I don't like the idea that my tax dollars go to such an organization.

For your information Salvation Army Wives don't just do things other wives do in order to help their husbands maintain a job. Like give moral support, feed and help clothe them. The Army wife is the same as her husband. Her duties are the same. Her responsibilities are the same. He goes through two years of training to be able to do what he does. Training in the scriptures, social work, finances, public speaking etc., etc. If she is to do her part in these things she needs the same training. Married life and life as Salvation Army ministers are difficult enough they don't need these difficulties added to by differences in beliefs, awareness, service, training, commitment etc.

I could go on and on but I realize that most people hear and retain only what they want. And most times if it doesn't agree with what they have already made up their minds to they will totally miss the point.

Where in the hell does the Salvation Army get off dictating who someone else can and can't marry? Can you answer that question Look? No, you can't!! You can't because the answer is that they DON'T have any right to dictate anything to anyone!!

In other words Look, they're indoctrinated. I love how one uses the word "training". Call it what it is, indoctrination. Otherwise, why else would one be concerned about differences? Is there something wrong with being "different"?

The point is that the Salvation Army discriminates. They discriminate against gay people, they discriminate against their own people, and they discriminate against those outside of the Salvation Army.

Maybe you like to support ignorant, bigoted, discriminatory people and organizations. But I don't!! I won't!! So go preach to someone who will listen because it is you Look who have "like totally missed the point".
