More Republican Jackasses
I really love Republicans, especially those who don't know what the hell they're talking about. Take a Texas Republican for example.
Freshman Sen. Dan Patrick from Houston introduced his first bill in the Texas Senate on Wednesday. It would enforce a ban on abortions in Texas if the U.S. Supreme Court decides to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The bills would ban abortion except to "prevent the death" of the mother — if Roe is overturned. They contain no exemptions for rape, incest or to protect the health of the mother.
So what these Republicans are essentially saying to the women of Texas is simple. They're saying that if you become pregnant, you're going to carry that fetus to term regardless of how you became pregnant. They're saying that they don't give a damn if you were raped. They're saying that they don't give a damn if you're a victim of incest. Hell, they're even saying that they don't give a damn if your health is at risk by carrying the fetus to term. If you're not dying, they don't care. All they care about is you popping out a full-term fetus.
Patrick argued, Texas could be perceived as a "pro-choice" state because it has laws permitting abortion for minors if their parents give their consent.
Again, I love Republicans. They demand that there are laws on the books regarding parental notification. They demand that parents give consent for their minor children to have abortions. Yet, this jackass is bitching because Texas might be "perceived as a pro-choice state" simply because it has the very laws on the books that asses like this one demand it has. Gee, you bitch about parents being allowed to know if their daughters are going to have abortions. You bitch about parents being allowed to say yes or no. But now you're bitching because such a law exists and it might make the state look bad? Make up your god damn mind!!
Finally, this is Patrick's statement that takes the cake for the biggest contradiction of the bill that he introduced.
"I want to have a law on the books that clearly says if Roe v. Wade is overturned, there will be no abortions in Texas," he said.
He introduces a bill in which a woman would be allowed to have an abortion if she were going to die because of the pregnancy. But, he wants a law on the books that says no abortions will be allowed in Texas if Roe v. Wade is overturned. Talk about contradicting yourself. Talk about being a jackass!! Which is it Mr. Patrick? Should a woman be allowed to have an abortion if she's dying because of the pregnancy? Or should she just die if Roe v. Wade is overturned? You can't have it both ways!! And if you're going to choose the latter of the two options, I expect the following to happen. When a woman dies because of this whole thing, you and everyone else who agrees with you should be arrested, charged, tried, convicted, and punished for aiding and abetting the unnecessary death of someone. There is absolutely no reason why any woman or girl should die if a pregnancy is literally killing her. There is absolutely no reason why any woman or girl should be forced to carry a child to term. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should support such bullshit. And if Mr. Patrick thinks this is okay, he should be the first one tried. Trust me when I say that if Roe v. Wade is overturned and this law is put into place in Texas, women and girls are going to die for absolutely no reason except for some asshole's religious and supposedly moral beliefs.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. God Bless America, the land where bullshit like this is allowed to happen because jackasses who think like Mr. Patrick elect jackasses like Mr. Patrick, and every woman in America has absolutely no rights because of jackasses like Mr. Patrick. Isn't it great to be an American, especially an American woman?
