More Hateful, Ignorant Americans.

Residents of Katy, Texas are complaining about plans to build a mosque in the city.

After reading the story, my point is proven. There are hateful, ignorant Americans in this country who have absolutely no idea what the hell they're talking about. Blatant bigotry is running rampant in this country, and it completely disgusts me that it's allowed to happen. But what do you expect from people in this country? Oh, but I forgot, it's okay to be a bigot when it comes to Muslims. The bigots just won't acknowledge that they are bigots. They say something like, I know Muslims. That's like listening to Michael Richards trying to explain his racist tirade against black people by saying, "I grew up with black kids." And? Just because you know a Muslim or grew up with a black person doesn't make you any less of a bigot or racist. When you say bigoted or racist things, you're a BIGOT or a RACIST.

One man threatened to hold pig races on Fridays just to offend the Muslims. That shows just how ignorant and stupid he is. As the president of the Katy Islamic Association said, the man failed in his attempt to offend Muslims. Muslims don't dislike pigs. They just don't eat them. What a moron!!

An anti-Islamic website was set up in response to this project. The site claims the neighbors will have to hear the Muslim call to prayer from the mosque's minaret five times a day — the Islamic group denies that — and offers an audio sample. How is hearing the call to prayer any different than having to listen to church bells and church music playing from churches? It's not. I live about six blocks from a Catholic church, and in the summer when the windows are open you can hear the music playing and the church bells ringing. But you don't hear me complaining about being subjected to that.

Besides keeping track of the running total of post-Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Web site provides home addresses of some association members and advises people who see anything suspicious to contact the FBI. Many people have sent anti-Islamic e-mails to the site. Perhaps someone should contact the FBI to make a complaint about the person who set up this website because he or she has violated the privacy of association members who have had their home addresses posted on this site. What is the website owner trying to accomplish here? Is he or she trying to encourage people to commit acts of violence against these association members? It certainly sounds like a tactic that is used often by racist or pro-life groups. Check out some of their websites if you don't believe me!! It's no surprise that this site has received anti-Islamic e-mails. When you're dealing with ignorant bigots in this country, what do you expect?

Cynthia Blackman wrote Radack that the center was a security risk: "Would you and your family safely and comfortably live next to this 11-acre Muslim mosque and facilities?" It's a security risk? Why? Because their Muslimness might rub off on you? Oh no!! Then you would have like Muslim germs on you, and that's like the worst kind of germs you could have.

I think the same could be said about Catholic churches then. They're security risks to have them in residential neighborhoods, especially neighborhoods where children live. After all, a priest or a nun might approach a child who is playing outside. The child could become the victim of a pedophile priest or nun by living near a Catholic church. Oh, did I just offend Catholics? But I wasn't being offensive. I was just saying that Catholic churches were security risks, given the numerous cases of clergy abuse in this country. I wasn't really being hateful towards Catholics. I was just saying that I was concerned.
