Pro-Lifer's Argument

I came across a rather ridiculous argument this morning regarding abortion. A pro-lifer was arguing that pregnancy is about sex, and you shouldn't choose to have sex if you don't want to get pregnant.

If this argument wasn't ridiculous, it would be laughable. What about the women and girls who don't choose to have sex, and were victims of rape? Apparently, in this person's mind, they chose to have sex. How anyone can justify rape is beyond me. But, this person seems to be doing just that. What they're essentially saying is, you may not have chosen to have sex but you still had sex so you should take responsibility for what happened.

I don't accept the lies from pro-lifers that if they were ever raped, they would have that baby. Some may, but I know that not all pro-lifers would. They would be the first ones in line to have an abortion. But what truly boggles my mind and I find absolutely deplorable is what pro-lifers are willing to do. They are willing to subject not only themselves but their wives, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, aunts, mothers, sisters, and even some grandmothers to unspeakable horror and trauma simply because they deem a fetus more important than the trauma that a pregnancy will cause a rape victim. They might as well rape the victim all over again.

Being pregnant should be a blessing, not a traumatic experience. Forcing a rape victim to carry their rapist's child is not only traumatic, but also punishment in my eyes. Nobody who is raped should be forced to have their rapist's baby. If you think otherwise, you're not human!!
