Kanye West & The "Backlash"
I'm sure by now most if not all of you have heard about Kanye West and the MTV Video Music Awards last night.
Do I like Kanye West? No!! Do I think that Kanye West is an asshole? Yeah, he is!! But give me a fucking break!!
First of all, it's not like he attacked Taylor Swift!! All he did was get up on the stage during her acceptance speech and say that Beyonce had one of the greatest videos of all-time. You can't tell me that Beyonce wasn't eating that up!!
Second of all, she's not somebody's little child or baby like a CNN anchor was trying to claim earlier today. She's not 17. She's an adult. If she can't handle the fact that someone doesn't agree with her win or doesn't like her, then maybe the entertainment business isn't the place for her!!
Now you've got Donald Trump calling for a boycott of Kanye West and his music. You've got all of these celebrities calling him a piece of shit and the scum of the earth. You've got Joe Jackson calling for Kanye West to be black-listed. Please!! Then you've got an "American Gladiator" threatening to kick West's ass. Isn't that called MAKING TERRORISTIC THREATS?
I ask these bitches the following questions:
Where were they when Chris Brown beat the shit out of Rihanna, and could have killed her? Why weren't they offering their support to her, and boycotting him? Why do they still treat him with respect?
They were nowhere to be found!!
But more importantly, where were they when their fellow musicians The Dixie Chicks were threatened with DEATH for stating their opinion about George Bush? Did they stand up for them, and threaten to kick the asses of those who were issuing the death threats? Did they ever stand up for their right to an opinion?
No, they didn't!! Not one of them stood up for the Dixie Chicks. Not one of them said to stop with the death threats.
All of a sudden this poor little girl is unable to defend herself against the big EVIL Kanye West who did nothing more than state an opinion, and everyone wants to "kill" him. Grow up!!
And Taylor, grow a pair!! This is not the last time you will ever face a negative reaction. It's called LIFE!! Deal with it!!
Kanye West outburst mars MTV music video awards
NEW YORK (Reuters) – The MTV video music awards held on Sunday paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson, but was overshadowed by an outburst by rapper Kanye West, who interrupted an acceptance speech by U.S. singer Taylor Swift.
West, who is known for his outspoken ways, jumped up on stage while the 19-year-old Swift was making an acceptance speech for best female video for her hit song "You Belong With Me," beating out singers including Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga.
"I am really happy for you," West said. "But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
MTV said West, who was spotted earlier on the red carpet drinking alcohol, was ejected from an awards show already known for its circus-like atmosphere. West received loud boos from the crowd when his name was mentioned later in the show.
West apologized on his website. "I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom," he wrote. "... I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!"
Beyonce took the show's top honor -- video of the year -- for her single "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" before recalling her first MTV award with her old band, Destiny's Child, and calling back Swift to the Radio City Music Hall stage to finish her acceptance speech.
"I would like Taylor to come out and have her moment," she said, before the country music star reappeared and thanked her fans.
MTV said Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Green Day won three awards apiece, the most of any artists on this year's awards show.
