D.C. Madam Dead!! Was It Really A Suicide?

The D.C. Madam has been found dead, and they're trying to claim that it was a suicide. I would say, look into murder.

'D.C. Madam' believed dead

(CNN) -- A woman who police believe to be Deborah Jeane Palfrey, known as the "D.C. Madam," was found dead in Florida Thursday, according to Tarpon Springs police.

The body has not been positively identified.

"Detectives are investigating an apparent suicide of a (white female) that appears to be in her early 50s," Tarpon Springs police said in a news release.

Suicide notes were found near the body in a small storage shed next to a mobile home, police said.

Palfrey, 52, was reportedly staying at the home of her mother, who owns the property where the body was found, police said.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death, police said.

The county sheriff's office and the FBI are participating in the investigation.

Palfrey was convicted last month in connection with a high-end prostitution ring catering to Washington's elite.

She was found guilty of money laundering, racketeering and mail fraud. She was awaiting sentencing with a potential of 50 years in jail.

At least one lawmaker, Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, a Republican, turned up in the phone records of her business, Pamela Martin & Associates.

State Department official Randall Tobias resigned in May 2007 after confirming he patronized Palfrey's business.

She argued it was a legitimate, legal escort service.

Yes, people commit suicide every single day in this country without any explanation. But, this was a woman who was still appealing. This was a woman who hadn't even been sentenced yet. Why the hell would she kill herself if she was trying to clear her name? It makes no sense!!

I would suggest that they start looking into the idea that she was murdered. She had big-named clients. Any one of them could have just as easily had her killed. It happens!! But to suggest that she killed herself almost immediately after finding her sounds suspicious. An autopsy hasn't even been done to determine cause of death. And, just because they supposedly found suicide notes doesn't mean a damn thing. Anyone can write a note.

I especially love the woman on Headline News who was discussing this story. She was trying to suggest that she may have committed suicide because well, "she had just been convicted and was facing a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison". Like I said, she was just found. To chalk it up as suicide and make suggestions as to why she's dead is not only irresponsible, it's unprofessional and ridiculous.

Suicide is too easy!! I smell a rat!!

Deborah Palfrey, the D.C. Madam who was ready to disclose dirt on some of the nation's most powerful men, committed suicide? C'mon now. I'm no conspiracy theorist but after Brandy Britton's "suicide," I find it very difficult to believe that these deaths were self-inflicted... even with the enormous pressure these not-so-innocent women have been under. This tragedy and its ensuing implications of corruption and power would make a great "Pelican Brief." We need justice, not secrets.

    I agree,

With all that's going on in our country right now with politics, anybody with any power in Washington or otherwise could have had this woman snuffed. Here we go again, the media is owned by those who run the country, so of course they are gong to paint whatever picture they want the citizens of this country to believe. Everytime we get someone who is possibly coming forward with info on cases in Washington, they supposedly commit suicide or get mugged and murdered or? Remember Vincent Foster? This woman could come out with a lot of dirty laundry, maybe a possibility of many GOP on her lists? You know they don't want any dirty laundry...Oh! also, what about the other woman indicted on the same deal she too committed suicide? I think it's too convenient. They have gotten rid of the two women who could ruin their lives those dirty bastards! better watch out america things are going to get worse next 6 months, our freedoms are going to be taken by those who control it all, you say something out of line you'll be gone. It's happening.....

I think is was murder, just for the mere fact that she has been reported as a suicide, before an autopsy or even id confirmed. I smell a rat as well.

Her close friend is currently on-air live on Alex Jones’ Radio show in Austin, TX– he has said she would never have committed suicide, and that she knew she would be murdered, made to look like a suicide. He is now naming names from her client book– among them: Dick Cheney, Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, and JOHN MCCAIN– a lot of powerful people had a lot to lose by letting her live– so they killed her. Please expose this!

I agree with previous comment that this stinks of her being silenced. I think an investigation should be opened.

It seriously smells here. You don't find a body, and immediately say it's suicide. The cops can offer their opinions, for whatever that's worth. But it doesn't mean that it is fact. There hadn't yet been an autopsy, but somehow there was already a cause and manner of death? I don't think so!!

Here's a fact!! People who kill people can and do make it look like a suicide or an accident in order to throw people off track. This is not a new concept to criminals. It's been going on since the beginning of time.

Unless someone actually believes in telling the truth, it's going to go down something like this. The coroner will come back and say "Yep, it was a suicide. She hung herself." They'll expect people to move on, and forget about it. But sooner or later, the truth has a way of coming out.

Now, if she did kill herself, fine!! But I don't believe that for even a second. As others have pointed out today, this was a woman who has fought this entire time. She certainly wasn't about to stop now. This was a woman who was appealing this in court, and hadn't exhausted her appeals. This was a woman who by all accounts could blow people out of the water if she dropped their names. She had no reason to kill herself. I say she was murdered.

How stupid do they honestly think people are?

Oh, and I'd like to point out one more thing. If she was so intent on killing herself and doing it before someone could stop her, why was there a clue that something was wrong? Her mother said that she knew something was out of the ordinary when she saw a bike outside of the shed. If someone really and truly wanted to kill themselves (and it was not just an attempt to cry out for help) they wouldn't leave a clue that could potentially lead to someone stopping them. They would commit suicide and be done with it.
